Waterfield’s New Platform Leverages Innovation and Expertise to Help Clients Maximize Their Wealth


Waterfield Financial and Investment Advisors, a portfolio manager registered with SEBI, has announced the launch of Discretionary Investment Services for India’s UHNI and HNI investors.Waterfield Advisors is India’s leading independent multi-family office and wealth advisory organisation. It was formed in 2011 by Soumya Rajan, who has decades of experience in private banking. On behalf of numerous well-known Indian business families, the firm provides advice on assets valued at more than USD 4.3 billion.

Recognising a growing trend among its clients to be less involved in investment decisions, Waterfield submitted an application for a PMS licence, which would allow it to continue using its distinctive advisory approach for portfolio construction and investment selection while providing a service platform for client investments.

For the several market segments that Waterfield Advisors works with, the solution is specially tailored. For UHNIs investing 100Cr+ with the advisory firm, the service will be offered as Outsourced CIO or OCIO, bringing to them an Investment Advisory Council and offering unlisted and global investments as well. For the firm’s Bespoke Wealth segment (investible assets between 10Cr – 100Cr), the proposition is segmented into Customised ( 25Cr – 100Cr) and Nucleus ( 10Cr – 25Cr), offering multi-asset solutions with five distinct risk profiles.

Soumya Rajan, the founder and CEO of Waterfield Advisors, said that,” Waterfield Advisors, a wealth management firm, has developed a discretionary platform for HNIs and family offices who want to minimize their time commitment and involvement in portfolio decisions. The platform is designed to be agile and responsive, so that clients can take advantage of investment opportunities as soon as they arise. He said that the platform “acts like an outsourced investment office” for clients, and that it “leverages meticulous agility in portfolio execution to minimize opportunity loss arising due to delayed action.”

The Discretionary platform will be headed by Shantanu Bhargava, Managing Director, Head of Discretionary Investment Services, Waterfield Advisors, an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, along with his team of experts.
