Wipro CEO Srini Pallia hails ‘transformative’ 32 years in first email to staff, says journey is a learning


Wipro’s new CEO and MD Srinivas Pallia in his first email to employees has said that resilience, tenacity, and adaptability would guide him as a leader, and past three decades since he joined the company in 1992 have been “transformative”, according to Moneycontrol report citing the CEO’s email.

“Your collective efforts have propelled our success, and I’m honoured to lead such a talented and diverse team,” he also said, as per the report.

Further, Pallia said that he joined Wipro right out of college, as have many others in the organisation. “These past three decades with our company have been transformative – a journey of continuous discovery, growth, and learning that shaped me into the leader I am today.”

“I am dedicated to creating a culture that values every step of our journey – triumphs, setbacks, and everything in between,” the 32-year Wipro veteran also said, as per the report.

According to a Wipro release, Pallia brings to the chief executive officer role extensive institutional and industry knowledge, as well as a strong track record of leadership through some of the most significant technological shifts the industry has seen.

“At their meeting held on April 6, 2024… pursuant to the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Srinivas Pallia as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the company with effect from April 7, 2024, for a period of five years, subject to the approval of shareholders and the Central Government as may be applicable,” Wipro informed in a regulatory filing.

Shares of Wipro on Monday declined by 1 per cent after the IT major announced the resignation of Thierry Delaporte as CEO and named Srinivas Pallia as its new CEO.

The stock dipped 1.09 per cent to settle at 479.90 apiece on the BSE.

On the NSE, it declined 0.99 per cent to 480.25 per share.

The Bengaluru-headquartered company is scheduled to announce its Q4 and full-year earnings for fiscal year 2023-24 on April 19.
